Terra Musica

A home for people who love the music that moves them.

Hi,

For those who would like to listen and don't know how to connect to the stream, this thread is for you!!

Live365.com is the network that streams the music for WBPM NetRADIO. The content is produced here in Tampa, FL. and is sent via the internet to Live365's servers in San Francisco, CA. I have stored previous shows that have aired so that no matter what time you connect you should hear music.

When I broadcast live, what is happening is that I am sending the music as I mix it "here" via the internet to a server located at Live365 in Cali. When you are listening to a live program, you are hearing what I am sending out with at best a 5-10 second delay. You are not connected directly to my studios here in Florida. Instead you are connecting to the server in California which is streaming what I am sending to it. Now that I got that out of the way...

To really enjoy this stream you should be able to receive a 96,000 bit per second data stream. If you have broadband /Cable or broadband satellite, some flavor of DSL or FiOS, you should have no problem connecting to the stream and enjoying the music. IF you are using a dial up connection...
Good luck but it is very likely you will not connect to the station.

Now, to connect to the station you will need to log-in on the Live365 site. If you have never done so before you will need to set up an account. This is a painless process...

This is what you do...
Open up a new browser window and either copy and paste or type in the following link -->>

http://www.live365.com/stations/razorheadz?play

This link takes you directly to my station page on the Live365.com site. You might want to bookmark that page at this time.

You may get a notice in your browser that it was unable to start the player. No problem. This message comes up if you have not logged into the network.

On the left hand side of the window you will see the station name. Just above that, you should see some grey colored "tabs" the first one will say "Home". There are more tabs to the right of that. Look to the far right. You should see the words "Log In or Sign-Up". Click that link.

You will be taken to a new page.

It should say "Start your FREE Membership. Sign Up Now".

You should see "New Member". It is located right below where it says "Sign Up Now!". You will be filling out the blanks below where it says "New Member". After you have filled out information click the GREEN "Join Now" button at the bottom and follow the directions from there on out.

(I forget if they send you a confirmation email hahahha!!! I suspect that they would wouldn't you?)

That is how you start your free account on Live365. Once it has been established, you are now ready to listen to WBPM NetRADIO.

It took me longer to type this that it will take to get the account set up!

Now after you have done all of that, you can listen to the station.

How to listen?

Well there are a number of places spread around this site and at WBPM NetRADIO's web page (www.bennettnetworks.net/WBPM/Index.htm or www.wbpmnetradio.com/WBPM/Index.htm) where you can connect and listen.

On this site, on the Home page there is a countdown timer that is counting down the time remaining before the next live broadcast. If you click on that it will take you to the station page at live365.com. No wthat you have an account, you will have to click that link that said "log-in or sign up". The differenct this time is that you will fill in your Username and Password on the left side of the page under "Already A Member". I would click the little "Remember Me" box as well). Or.....

you could just enter:

http://www.live365.com/stations/razorheadz?play

(if you leave off the "?play" part it will only take you to the page and not try to automatically log you in and start the music playing)

OR...you could go to http://www.bennettnetworks.net/WBPM/Index.htm and scroll down the page where you will see where to click to listen as well.

Now I am getting typer's knots in my hands typing this stuff so I will abbreviate this book (about time right?).

The better the speakers or headphones you use to listen. The better the music will sound.
If you happy with the sound of your speakers, then by all means tune in and enjoy.

I have re-processed the music so that it sounds fuller, has a wider stereo seperation and adjusted the volumes of the music is as clear as possible.

Some of the stuff I use is from the original record or tape. As time goes by the music that is added is increasingly in an all digital format. Sometimes that's good and sometimes thats not so good. It depends on taste.

The processing that has been done is intended to "warm up" the music so it doesn't sound so sterile or cold. Turn your bass up and you will hear bass (assuming your speakers hand handle the low end). Bring up the Treble and your fillings might *pop*. Again it depends on your set up and what kinda dentist you had as a kid. If you are using speakers..try to seperate them as much as possible. I would suggest you compare the sound of WBPM NetRADIO to other internet stations but I am greedy. I only want you to listen to WBPM NetRADIO. Every minute you listen helps push the station higher in the rankings. It really means something.

Okay..okay....I get a bigger cut of the advertising revenue generated by companies bugging your nerves with commercials. But to be honest..I would need half the state of Virginia to tune in all day everyday for a month for me to earn enough to buy a cheeseburger. So its about my feelings. The more you listen the more I will feel loved...appreciated and not taken for granted. (Really..I appreciate the happy feelings but being that I was recently layed off....toss me the dollahz!)

Now the important stuff...how to listen....

All that stuff up there was how to get set up...

This is how you listen to WBPM NetRADIO.... get logged in...get your sound right...then go do what you do. That's it...its that simple. Oh yeah ... getting sick of those commercials yet? You will. Especially when they drop one right in the middle and I mean the middle of a serious groove. Its like some evil gnome is tapping his foot on the music cutoff switch. To stop the commercials...become a VIP. Its really not that expensive compared to the costs of cigarettes...Beer, Wine Coffee and DVD rentals and you will be able to hear ALL stations without commercial interruption. Ever.

You have not heard WBPM if you have never listened without commercials. That's because the music sets are designed to play non-stop. By connecting as a VIP, you get to hear the music as it was intended to be heard. Without commercial interruption.

THERE IS ONE EXCEPTION. During live shows when I stream from my studio in Florida, there are no commercial interruptions because I am controlling what is being streamed to the you out there. Live365 does not control my stream when I broadcast live.

Want it to be commercial free all the time. Get everyone to sign up as a VIP and listen to the station morning, noon and night. When I see that this is the #1 R&B, Jazz and House station on the Live365 network and I have enough sponsors to cover the royalties that are trying to bury internet broadcasters as myself, then with your collective blessings I will do it in a heartbeat (smile). Hmmm...that would be sweet...yeahhh....Tell everyone....Hairdressers, Barbershop, book stores, spas, car shops where ever there is an internet connection tell them about WBPM NetRADIO. Tell your co-workers..buy them headphones for Christmas, or their birthdays...hypnotise someone. Do whatever it take!!! Yeah!! That would be perfect!!!!

(Sorry....I should be working on a 3D drawing now...gotta go!) Right now I am listing to Cherrelle and Alexander O'Neal what are you listening to?
